Job Description
The Role
As a Crisis Support Worker with St Vincent de Paul Society, you will be responsible for the provision of end-to-end support for clients engaged through our Family Accommodation Support Service and Supported Housing programs. Providing holistic support for families and single adults throughout all facets of the client journey from intake to exit, an inherent requirement of this role is to provide a high standard of case management, advice, referral and advocacy utilising Specialist Homelessness databases.
A key focus of this role is the provision of assistance to clients who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to access safe, affordable, and stable accommodation. Additionally, you will work with families and single adults with complex needs to increase skills to sustain current and future tenancies, and improve overall quality of life.
This is a permanent full-time (38 hours per week) role, primary location is in Tara but there is flexibility to work in the Dalby office 1-2 days a week. A company car is available for travel between the two sites, and travel time will be included in the working hours.
Desired Skills and Experience
About You
To be successful in the role, you will meet the following criteria:
Minimum Certificate III in Community Services or related field
Knowledge of and ability to work within relevant legislation and guidelines relating to the delivery of specialist homelessness services
Previous experience as a Support Worker or equivalent within the homelessness support sector or related field
Ability to deliver advocacy on behalf of clients and always ensure confidentiality of client information
Ability to work unsupervised at times as well as an effective team member
Contribute positively within a team environment
The successful candidate will be required to hold a current Blue Card
