Job Description
The Role
The Housing Officer is responsible for the day-to-day provision of tenancy , property management, and related housing activities. You will have a high focus on tenancy education and developing pathways for tenancy sustainment. The Housing Officer will work as part of a state-wide team and closely with the St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland and with other local service providers to achieve positive housing outcomes.
All duties and responsibilities will be performed in accordance with St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland Housing Limited policy, procedure and legislative requirements.
This is a Housing Officer – Permanent - Full Time Position (38 hours per week) role based in Toowoomba.
This role would have overnight travel where required. Approximately 4 times a year for up to 4 nights, and in between where required for overnight travel (2-4 times). There may also be day travel to outlying towns.
Desired Skills and Experience
To be successful in the role, you will meet the following criteria:
Relevant qualification or equivalent demonstrated experience in property and tenancy management services, community housing programs or related discipline or similar position
Manage our properties through active tenancy engagement delivered in the compassion and values of Vinnies Housing
Microsoft Office suite proficiency with advanced aptitude in Word, Outlook and Excel
Developed interpersonal, communication and organisation skills and personal aptitude for attention to detail
A demonstrated capability for continuous improvement and resilience
Ability to work with a diverse range of key stakeholders
Understanding of and commitment to the philosophy of the St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland and an ability to work in accordance with policies and procedures to promote the values and mission of the Society.
