Job Description
Your Role
As a Membership & Development Officer, you will support and empower members of the St Vincent de Paul Society to deliver meaningful community impact.
Working closely with Councils and Conferences, you will build capability, strengthen engagement, and deliver training to support members in their work across the region.
This role involves regular travel across the Southern Downs, Western Downs, Roma and Charleville (company vehicle provided).
Membership & Engagement
Build strong relationships with Conferences and Councils, providing guidance and support
Encourage member engagement, diversity, and growth across the Society
Support the establishment and development of Conferences and community networks
Ensure member records and compliance requirements are maintained
Training & Development
Deliver training, induction, and ongoing development for members
Support the rollout of state-wide training initiatives
Identify local training needs and contribute to program development
Community Impact
Support members to respond to evolving community needs
Strengthen partnerships with community organisations
Promote effective, sustainable approaches to supporting disadvantaged communities
Continuous Improvement
Contribute to improving processes, systems, and ways of working
Support members to utilise tools and technology effectively
This is a Permanent, Full-time Position (38 hours per week) involving Travel (Motor Vehicle Provided) based in Toowoomba.
Desired Skills and Experience
To be successful in the role, you will meet the following criteria:
Relevant Tertiary or Tafe Qualification and/or experience in the delivery of training programs
Knowledge of the Catholic faith is desirable
Understanding of and commitment to the philosophy of the St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland and an ability to work in accordance with policies and procedures to promote the values and mission of the Society
Knowledge of the St Vincent de Paul Society and an understanding of the role of conferences, councils and special works.
Ability to prepare Liturgies, Induction ceremonies and festival meeting.
Understanding of and an ability to explain basic IT and Accounting principles
Experience and knowledge of working with disadvantaged people
Demonstrated experience with planning and delivering training programs or projects
Knowledge of and experience in community networking and development
Experience in the recruitment and development of volunteers
Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication
Proven ability to adapt and be flexible to the nature of the role
Proficient knowledge and understanding in MS Office and web-based application
Ability to contribute to the ongoing process of continual improvement and effective teamwork
